The U.S. government keeps records of any contact that you have had with a government agency. This includes any prior contact or filings with DHS, USCIS, EOIR (the Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals), ICE, Customs and Border Patrol, the FBI, and overseas consulates. It is your right, under the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) to access your government file.
At Bardavid Law, we believe in safety first: We will never file an application for you until we know what records already exist. Consequently, we always file FOIA requests for clients who previously filed applications or had prior contact with the authorities.
If you would like us to obtain your file, review it, and offer a consultation on whether and how you can proceed with obtaining legal status, complete the form below, and we will contact you shortly.
